Things I've seen and done at home...that make me know I'm home.
Went roadtripping on the country roads and only seen one other car.
Witnessed the horrible beating death of a muskrat.
Seen a skunk, smelt a skunk, seen many racoons running for their lives when they see head lights.
Seen old friends and my family.
Smelt cow shit and actually missed it.
Remembered that tractors are a part of everyday life and they don't move for oncoming traffic. (which I love.)
Waved at people with one finger. Not the middle one. Just because, that's what people do.
Said hello to strangers and they say it back.
Played cards while drinking beer, from a can, for hours.
Took my neice to school. She then thought it to be a good idea for me to come with her, to read, then to lunch. I didn't accept the invitation, but said I might when they serve my favorite school lunch.
Watched calves on the loose walk right up to the door of my friends house.
Walked around the "section" yesterday.
Heard the "he said" "she said" the first couple of hours I got here. I have the dirt.
I think I'm pretty happy to be home and live the quiet, country-ish life right now. It really is the simple things that make this girl's world go round.
